Our mission is to provide world-class standards of service, with focus on safety, and operational efficiency for Pune Metro’s expanding network. Currently, our team is focused on critical mobilisation activities, ensuring we meet all targets set by PITCMRL and future operational benchmarks ahead of launching full revenue services for Line 3.

Strategy – Operational Excellence for Pune Metro Line 3

Keolis India’s strategic focus is on delivering world-class Operations & Management (O&M) services for Pune Metro’s Line 3 corridor. By leveraging the Keolis Group’s global expertise, we ensure peak performance, passenger satisfaction, and seamless integration with infrastructure partners. Our strategy rests on four core pillars:

Service Reliability & Performance

Rigorous KPIs: We apply the Group’s proven O&M benchmarks to PML 3, targeting high level of reliability

Predictive Maintenance: Utilizing Keolis Data Hub analytics, we shift from reactive fixes to predictive upkeep, maximizing fleet uptime and minimizing service disruptions.

Collaborative Partner Ecosystem

Integrated Coordination: Keolis India orchestrates daily operations—liaising closely on depot readiness, systems handover, and safety certification.

Continuous Feedback Loop: We maintain joint working groups and swiftly resolve technical issues, ensuring a smooth transition from construction to fully operational service.

Customer-Centric Service Offer: At Keolis Pune, we apply our “Think like a passenger” mantra in everything we do. We would promote Sustainable & Responsible Operations in line with PITCML’s objectives to reduce carbon footprint and promote sustainability. We would proactively engage with the local community in the catchment area of PML3 to reflect local needs and build public trust.

At A Glance - Talent Development and Inclusivity

Human capital is critical to success. Our projects invest heavily in training Indian engineers, operators and technicians. We partner with local technical institutes and metro academies for recruitment, and certification programs. Special emphasis is placed on gender diversity: for example, Pune Metro Line 3 is beginning with 100% women train pilots. These initiatives – a de facto policy of encouraging women engineers and drivers – support broader societal goals of women’s empowerment and workforce inclusivity.

Beyond gender, we nurture talent across all levels. Apprenticeship and internship programs give young Indians hands-on experience in metro operations, signalling, and station management. Management traineeships and leadership development programs prepare the next generation of Indian transit leaders. By developing local talent, we ensure that metro systems are staffed and led by people who understand India’s needs, thereby enhancing service reliability and innovation capability.

Future Outlook and Partnerships

India’s metro network is expanding rapidly, and we intend to grow with it. The government reports that over 725 km of new metro lines were added in the past decade, and many more corridors are planned. Our long-term strategy is to support this growth through joint ventures and public-private partnerships that combine global best practices with local strengths.

Our metro initiatives in India are deeply aligned with national objectives – from environmental sustainability to economic development to social inclusion. We strive to deliver efficient, innovative transit systems that not only meet today’s transportation needs but also foster community benefits and support India’s urban policy agendas.
